This one-day conference sponsored by the Race & Social Justice Committee of AFC, MATEC and partners will explore innovative strategies on how to address aspects of our organizational culture that perpetuate systems of oppression while aligning with the meaningful engagement of people living with, and vulnerable to, HIV.
Our aim is to explore how racism, often unacknowledged, is nevertheless a reality in the HIV workforce and our communities. How can we improve the HIV workforce so we better understand how issues of race, class, culture and gender can impact sexual behaviors and access to HIV prevention and care services?
This conference is open to anyone in the HIV workforce – from frontline staff to directors, from people new to the field to veterans.
CEUs are available for the conference via MATEC, parking provided at the conference check-in and refreshments served.
