Kathryn Macapagal, PhD, and Jim Pickett will present findings from their Center for AIDS Research “Ending the HIV Epidemic” supplement award. Macapagal is a research associate professor of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University and associate director of the THRIVE Center at the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing. Pickett, who has been living with HIV since 1995, is a consultant working on domestic and global advocacy in support of HIV prevention research and implementation of new modalities. His work in this space has been ongoing for more than two decades, including working at AIDS Foundation Chicago for 17 years and a 6-year consultancy with the Chicago Department of Public Health. He led the development and implementation of Chicago’s renown PrEP4Love social marketing and community mobilization campaign and continues to work on the PrEP4Teens project with Northwestern inspired by PrEP4Love.
