These recommendations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Panel for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents with HIV (the Panel) have been developed in collaboration with representatives from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), and the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA). The following recommendations and supporting text have then been reviewed and endorsed by these respective organizations. These recommendations inform the use of statin therapy in primary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in people with HIV receiving care in the United States. Learn more:
