Applications will be accepted until September 15
The Illinois HIV Integrated Planning Council (IHIPC) has officially opened up its recruitment for new members for 2019. The council seeks to fill six at-large non-voting member positions. Applications will be accepted until September 15, 2018.
At-large members go through the same application and selection process and have all the training, meeting attendance, and committee participation responsibilities of voting members except for voting. Should a voting member leave the group prior to the next membership selection period, an at-large member will automatically transition into that role.
This letter provides an overview of the IHIPC and the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of membership. Please read before completing an application. The application is a fillable Word document designed to be easy to complete; it can be completed and saved electronically or can be printed off and completed that way.
The IHIPC strives to have adequate representation from every region of the state, with expertise and experience from HIV care, prevention, and other related areas, and inclusive of special populations, all risk groups and race/ethnicities.
The IHIPC recently conducted a gap analysis of its current membership to determine its areas of weakness. The council determined that people meeting one or more of the following areas of representation will be prioritized for membership selection in 2019:
- Individuals residing and working in regions 1 and 2
- Transgender individuals
- Black or Hispanic MSM
Individuals who are Black, Hispanic, Asian, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific islander, or mixed race
