The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention launched Transforming Health, a new website that aims to reach health care providers to help them deliver patient-centered HIV care to transgender people. Part of the Act Against AIDS initiative, Transforming Health offers materials for health care providers on key topics such as how to make practices welcoming for transgender patients, HIV prevention, collecting sexual orientation and gender identity data, taking a sexual history, HIV testing, risk reduction strategies, and the HIV care continuum. The website also offers information for patients on HIV prevention and care strategies and video testimonials from transgender people. The National LGBT Health Education Center collaborated with CDC on content development of this website and its related CME/CEU program Delivering HIV Prevention and Care to Transgender People.
