The 2024 Illinois Minority Health Conference, a unique annual statewide gathering, offers a valuable opportunity for healthcare providers, public health and medical institutions, health departments, emergency response and preparedness personnel, community health workers, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, students, and other social services entities to network and learn.
This 2 ½ day event will feature dynamic keynote speakers, three preconference workshops, and four specialized tracks that delve into timely and crucial topics, featuring knowledgeable and engaging presenters who will share insights on health and health equity-related issues.
Conference objectives:
By attending this year’s conference, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the pressing issues of health disparities and social justice and how these factors significantly impact health outcomes.
- Assess competencies among public health and healthcare professionals, other providers, and community partners serving minorities and other disadvantaged communities in Illinois.
- Discuss policies, strategies, and innovative approaches to achieving the health and well-being of Illinois’ racial and ethnic minority populations and other underserved populations.
- Build successful community engagement and collaboration strategies that produce culturally and linguistically appropriate models of care.
