Be a part of the Women’s Connection Summit. The Women’s Connection summit is taking place on Friday, March 15th, from 9am – to 4pm, at Chicago State University in the Jacoby Dickens Center. This event is designed to bring together local service providers to create a “one-stop” environment for individuals who are facing adverse situations such as homelessness or drug addiction. This event is also designed to help females who are on parole and probation to obtain necessary resources and assistance to overcome barriers to success. The goal of the Women’s Connection is to connect female returning citizens with available services to better ensure reintegration into the community and thus reduce recidivism.

The resources include access to HIV/HCV, blood pressure, heart and other health screenings; employment and housing resources; and connections to local organizations that provide direct services within their communities.  We need assistance to make this program a success. We are in need of vendors, volunteers and donations. Please consider setting up a table and sharing your organizations services, resources and giveaways. Donations are also needed for clothes. Vendors will be able to arrive at 8:15 to set up a table that will be provided. If you are able to attend, please respond by Feb 22nd to L’Oreal Bailey at LBailey@aidschicago.org

Once you send your information and register as a vendor, follow-up information will be sent on parking, location access and other relevant information. If you are a member of Safe & Sound Partnership or Women’s Connection, please consider sharing the invite.

Participants will have a chance to visit the clothes closet and discuss professional styles with a local hair stylist and cosmetologist.  Also, they will have access to skills-building workshops on HIV, sexual health, PrEP, and workforce development.  The Women’s Connection Summit is a community expo hosted by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, The Women’s Connection,  Safe & Sound Return Partnership, Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois Comptroller, Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago,  HIV/AIDS Regional Resource, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region 5 and many other valuable community partners.
