ADAP Medical Issues Advisory Board

The mission of the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Medical Issues Advisory Board is to advise the Illinois Department of Public Health HIV/AIDS Section around a range of relevant ADAP issues concerning access to ADAP services and client rights and responsibilities, in accordance with the Health Resources and Service Administration’s (HRSA) rules and regulations, and other applicable laws, to ensure the provision of HIV medication to vulnerable HIV+ Illinoisans.

This mission will be accomplished by providing:

  • Advice in the development and maintenance of the ADAP formulary.
  • Guidance surrounding prescribing guidelines associated with the ADAP formulary.
  • Advice on action to be taken in the areas of client eligibility/access, client rights and responsibilities, fiscal stewardship, and other programmatic operations and procedures.
